Regional Development Ministry, Committed to Leading Performance Driven Ministry – Dr. Mary A. Ogbe

A One- Day ministerial Retreat on the Validation  of the 2025 Ministerial Performance Management System (MPMS) and official signing of the  Performance Contracts for the Directors and Heads of Units of the Ministry was held on the 21th July, 2025 at the  Federal Secretariat, Phase 1, Abuja. This was contained in a statement signed by Lawan Ahmed Danbazau, mnipr, Head, Press, and Public Relations (MRD).

Permanent Secretary,  Ministry of Regional Development,  Dr. Mary Ada Ogbe, who declared the Retreat open, said the Retreat marks an important milestone in the efforts to establish  a result  focused  culture within  the Ministry.
She said that engagement provides a valuable opportunity to collaboratively review, validate, and align Departmental inputs into the MPMS Template  in a way that reflects  our mandates, aligns with national  priorities,  and encourages measurable impact.
“ As you know, the Federal Civil Service Strategy and Implementation Plan 2021-2025 ( FCSSP 25 ) highlights institutional performance management as a key element  for transforming  public service”. Through  the MPMS, we intend to turn this reform agenda into concrete  frameworks that will promote accessibility,  transparency,  efficiency,  and service excellence in every part of our work. She added.
The Permanent Secretary encouraged participants to engage in the session with a strong sense of purpose and openness, noting that their inputs are essential to ensure that the Ministry’s 2025 Performance is  not only comprehensive but also practical, adaptable, and align with the changing development landscape.
She expressed appreciation for the efforts of the Human Resource Management Department,  the Consultant, and our Champions  for the  Preparatory  work leading to this retreat as I look forward to  a productive and outcome-driven engagement, She said.

In his address, the Director Human Resource Management Department, Mr. Musa Makoji,  expressed  heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed to the success of the  2025 Performance Management System (PMS) Retreat as well as the facilitators from the  Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation   ( OHCSF) and Consultants, “we thank you for sharing your expertise and insights, which have undoubtedly enriched our understanding of performance management and its application in our minds.
 
To the organizing committee, your tireless efforts behind the scenes have ensured the smooth execution of this retreat. We appreciate your hard work and dedication.
 
To all present, your presence has added value to our deliberations. We are grateful for your support.
 
As we conclude this retreat, we are filled with renewed enthusiasm and a deeper understanding of how to drive excellence in our Ministry. We are confident that the knowledge and strategies gained will propel us towards achieving our goals.. he concluded.
