The Anambra State Police Command today, 27th August 2026, witnessed the implementation of a welfare initiative of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, psc (+), NPM, sponsored by the Nigeria Police Trust Fund (NPTF). The initiative is part of ongoing efforts to enhance the welfare and well-being of Junior Police Officers’ spouses and their families. This was contained in a statement signed by SP. Ikenga Tochukwu, Police Public Relations Officer, Anambra State Police Command, Awka.
The statement reads: “The event, held at Don Ritz Hotel, Awka underscores the commitment of the Inspector-General of Police to prioritising the welfare of personnel and their families, recognising the important role that family support plays in boosting the morale, dedication and effectiveness of police officers in the discharge of their duties.
“The programme provided support to beneficiaries among the spouses of Junior Police Officers in the Command, further demonstrating the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to strengthening the welfare structure for its personnel and their dependants.
“The Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Command, represented by the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Finance and Adminstration DCP Ngozi Ezeabata appreciated the Inspector-General of Police and the Nigeria Police Trust Fund for the laudable initiative. She noted that initiatives of this nature would contribute significantly to improving the morale of officers and fostering a stronger sense of belonging within the Police family.
“The Command appreciates the IGP and the NPTF for their continued support and assures that it will remain committed to promoting the welfare of its personnel while sustaining professional, people-oriented and effective policing across Anambra State.
“Some of the items presented include certificates of training, cash gift, sewing machine, hair dryer machine and other goodwills, ” it also added.
