The Anambra State Police Command has successfully resolved the reported case involving the alleged missing vehicle belonging to a kidnapped victim, which recently generated public concern following a viral video circulated on social media platforms. This was contained in a statement signed by SP. Ikenga Tochukwu, Police Public Relations Officer, Anambra State Police Command, Awka.
The statement reads: “The Command’s findings and subsequent actions helped to clarify the circumstances surrounding the matter and ensured that appropriate steps were taken in line with due process and professional policing standards. Consequently, the vehicle has been recovered and returned to the rightful owner, while efforts are ongoing to conclude every other aspect of the investigation.
“The Command appreciates human rights activists, social media handlers, and concerned members of the public who followed the investigative proceedings and showed interest in ensuring justice and accountability.
“The Command reiterates its commitment to transparency, accountability, and professionalism in the discharge of its constitutional responsibilities. It further notes that constructive criticism, useful suggestions, and objective comments from members of the public remain vital components of its policing strategy, as they assist in guiding operational decisions and implementing necessary corrective measures.
“The Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu, fwc mnips PhD assures Ndi Anambra that the Command remains dedicated to protecting lives and property while sustaining public confidence through responsive, professional, and people-oriented policing, ” it also added.
