Troops of 8 Division Nigerian Army Operation FANSAN YAMMA have successfully thwarted an attack by armed bandits and recovered rustled cattle in Kebbe Local Government Area of Sokoto State, in a development that has drawn commendation from residents of the community.
During the operation, the troops succeeded in overpowering the bandits, forcing them to flee the area and abandoning some of the cattle believed to have been rustled from communities within the locality.
The recovered livestock were subsequently secured by the troops for identification and possible return to their legitimate owners, subject to the necessary verification.
Residents of Kebbe community commended the troops for their swift response and sustained presence in the area, saying the military’s intervention had helped to prevent further attacks and protect the livelihoods of local residents, particularly farmers and livestock owners.
The latest operation underscores the commitment of Operation FANSAN YAMMA to degrading the capabilities of bandits and other criminal elements operating across the North-West, while creating a safer environment for communities to pursue their economic activities.
