The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Gwabin Musa, today, 23 September 2025, received members of the Northern Bridge Builders Forum on a courtesy visit at the Defence Headquarters, Abuja. This was contained in a statement signed by Brigadier General Tukur Gusau, Director of Defence Information.

Speaking during the visit, the team leader, Senator Joel Danlami Ikenya, commended the Armed Forces of Nigeria (AFN) for their immense contributions to peace, unity, and stability across the country. He noted that the forum stands firmly with the AFN and particularly applauded its efforts in restoring security, which has allowed farmers to return to their fields and boost agricultural production.

Senator Ikenya further disassociated the forum from negative criticisms of the military by some uninformed individuals, urging the AFN to sustain its momentum in the fight against insecurity. He highlighted the significant improvement in security along the Abuja–Kaduna highway as a visible example of the military’s success.

In his remarks, the CDS expressed appreciation for the visit and thanked the forum for its show of solidarity and encouragement. He reassured the delegation that the AFN remains resolute and will continue to work tirelessly to ensure the safety and security of all Nigerians.

General Musa also lauded the forum’s diverse membership, describing them as patriotic Nigerians committed to building bridges of peace and unity.
