Chief of the Naval Staff Commission’s Several Projects on Wednesday 11 December 2024 in Rivers State

On Wednesday 11 December 2024, the Chief of the Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ikechukwu Ogalla, commissioned several facilities at Ebubu-Eleme and Borokiri in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. This is in line with the Chief of the Naval Staff Strategic Directives to promote the welfare and morale of the Nigerian Navy personnel to ensure a happy homogenous, willing, and ready Naval Force. This was contained in a statement signed by Commodore Adams-Aliu, Director of Naval Information.

The facilities commissioned include: a. Parade Ground and Pavilion. b. Junior Rates’ Mess. c. Senior Rates’ Mess. d. Headquarters Naval Training Command Officers’ Mess. e. 2xRatings Accommodation Blocks of 47xRooms each. f. One Block of 56x 1 Bedroom Flat Apartments. The multiple commissioning of projects is part of the ongoing Nigerian Navy End of Year activities. In his remarks, the Chief of the Naval Staff promised to continue addressing the issues of inadequate accommodation to boost NN personnel welfare.

“We are rehabilitating and bringing back abandoned accommodations to become useful for us because we have a very serious challenge of inadequate accommodation. We have put a lot of our resources to make sure that whichever one we can do is done properly, in addition to the new ones that we are building in Port Harcourt and other areas.” With these words, the Chief of the Naval Staff further reassured his officers & men that their welfare was his topmost priority. He reiterated that the Nigerian Navy is committed to prioritizing the welfare of its officers and ratings by ensuring they have access to decent and secure accommodations.
