Corps Members have been advised against abandoning the national service for any reason and urged to stay on and contribute to the socio-economic development of the country. This was contained in a statement signed by Caroline Embu, Director, Information and Public Relations.

The Director-General (DG) of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier General Olakunle Nafiu, gave the advice while addressing the 2026 Batch ‘A’ Stream One Corps Members at the Orientation Camps in Ogun and Oyo States.

General Nafiu, who lauded them for obeying the clarion call for service, also advised them to ensure prudent financial management, adding that this would help them during and after the service year.

He urged them to appreciate and respect the cultures and traditions of their host communities and be of good conduct at all times.

“When you are posted to your place of primary assignment, respect their rules, be punctual, be resourceful, and learn the culture of the organisation you are posted to,” the DG said.

Earlier, the NYSC Ogun State Coordinator, Mrs. Olayinka Nasamu, had informed the DG that 3,341 Corps Members, including 975 originally deployed to Lagos State, were registered in the Camp, adding that they had conducted themselves responsibly and adapted to the regimented Camp life.

“All camp officials are also performing their duties diligently with a high sense of synergy,” she said.

In Oyo State, the Coordinator, Mr. Kayode Ola-Peters said the 3,068 registered Corps Members had demonstrated commendable character, participated actively in Camp activities, and were eager to contribute to national development in all sectors.
