The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Olatunji Rilwan Disu, on Monday, 21st April 2026, paid a courtesy visit to the Headquarters of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) in Abuja, in a renewed push to strengthen collaboration against cross-border crimes and enhance national security coordination.
During the visit, the IGP underscored the need for deeper inter-agency synergy, stressing that effective border management and seamless intelligence sharing remain critical to addressing emerging transnational security threats.
He called for strengthened coordination mechanisms, sustained joint training, and real-time intelligence exchange between the Nigeria Police Force and the Nigeria Immigration Service, noted that such collaboration is vital to improving operational efficiency and safeguarding Nigeria’s borders.
In her response, the Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Immigration Service, Kemi Nanna Nandap, expressed appreciation for the visit, describing it as a strong demonstration of commitment to inter-agency partnership and national security consolidation.
She also highlighted the Service’s ongoing collaboration with the INTERPOL National Central Bureau (NCB) in Nigeria, particularly in the areas of border security management, transnational crime prevention, and intelligence sharing.
Both agencies reaffirmed their commitment to sustained cooperation aimed at disrupting criminal networks, enhancing border surveillance, and strengthening Nigeria’s overall security architecture.
The Nigeria Police Force reiterated its resolve to continue working closely with sister security agencies in advancing national security objectives.
