The Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment has informed the general public and the concerned parties that it has received and acknowledged an appeal submitted to the Honourable Minister, Dr. Jumoke Oduwole, regarding issues bordering on alteration of corporate records, administrative actions, and related developments involving JonahCapital Nigeria Limited and Houses for Africa Nigeria Limited. This was contained in a statement signed by Obilor-Duru Augustina Okechi, Head, Press and Public Relations.
The statement reads: “The Ministry notes that the matters raised in the appeal are presently the subject of ongoing judicial proceedings before courts of competent jurisdiction, including the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory and the Federal High Court, Abuja. In particular, the Ministry is aware of subsisting suits and existing interlocutory orders in which the courts have directed parties to maintain the status quo pending the determination of the substantive disputes.
“In this regard, the Ministry wishes to clearly state that it holds the judiciary in the highest regard and remains fully committed to the principles of constitutionalism, the rule of law, and respect for the doctrine of sub judice. Nothing in the Ministry’s engagement with the appeal is intended to interfere with, pre-empt, or undermine the authority of the courts or the outcome of the pending cases.
“Notwithstanding the pendency of the matters before the courts, the Ministry confirms that the appeal has been taken under advisement and is being carefully reviewed within the limits of its administrative oversight responsibilities. This review is being undertaken strictly without prejudice to the ongoing judicial processes and with due regard to existing court orders.
“The Ministry further reassures all stakeholders that it will act with restraint, fairness, and institutional propriety, and that no step will be taken that could foist or compromise the integrity of judicial determination. All relevant agencies and parties are similarly encouraged to respect subsisting court orders and allow the legal process to run its full course.
“The Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment remains committed to fostering investor confidence, upholding due process, and ensuring that Nigeria’s regulatory and institutional frameworks operate transparently and lawfully,” it also added.
