Following the security emplacement of the Commissioner of Police Anambra State, CP Ikioye Orutugu fwc mnips PhD on security surveillance, strengthened visibility policing, and expanded routine and targeted patrols both day and night, Operatives of the Anambra State Police Command attached to the Ozubulu Police Division working in collaboration with the Ozubulu Central Vigilante in the evening of 30th November 2025 arrested one Emmanuel Osuigwe at Amakwa, Ozubulu. This was contained in a statement signed by SP Ikenga Tochukwu, Police Public Relations Officer, Anambra State Police Command.

The statement reads: “The suspect was reportedly observed behaving suspiciously and attempted to conceal himself upon sighting the joint patrol team. He was immediately apprehended, and a search conducted on him led to the discovery of a handcuff wound and recovery of a handcuff.

“During preliminary questioning, the suspect allegedly claimed to be a member of the proscribed secessionist group and stated that he had recently escaped from a camp at Ukpor following a disagreement with other members.

“He is currently in Police custody and undergoing further interrogations. Meanwhile, he has provided useful information that is aiding ongoing investigations.

“To this end, Anambra State Police Command assures residents of continued efforts to maintain peace, security, and public safety across the State.

“Further developments will be communicated as the investigation progresses,”it also added. .
