The National Council for Arts and Culture (NCAC) has inaugurated an operational committee to drive the Creative Leap Accelerator Platform (CLAP).

The groundbreaking initiative launched virtually by the Minister of Art, Culture and the Creative Economy Minister Hannatu Musa Musawa in August, is chaired by the Director General of the National Council For Arts and Culture NCAC, Mr. Obi Asika. This was contained in a statement signed by Nneka Ikem-Anibeze Ph.d, SA Media and Publicity, FMACCE.

The committee comprises members from the Minister’s Office, NCAC, and private sector partners.

The committee is expected to aggregate capacity-building programs from various agencies and NCAC initiatives, focusing on Innovation, Creativity, and Entrepreneurship (ICE) and the Council’s cultural inventory initiative, ORIGINS. Strategic alliances with Dexude and PlayHouse Communications will leverage relationships with ISN Hubs, a nationwide network of over 200 hubs in 32 states and the FCT, as well as the Committee of Vice-Chancellors (CVC), representing 235 locations.

By 2027, the initiative aims to upskill over two million Nigerian youths, empowering the next generation of creative talent. The ORIGINS platform, NCAC’s innovative digital repository, will curate Nigerian history and culture, providing global black connectivity. This coordinated approach promises to deliver a comprehensive, accessible support system for the creative community.

Minister Musawa, whose visionary leadership drives this transformative initiative is leveraging technology to position Nigeria as a global leader in creative innovation.
