The Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC) has received the Industry Leader Regulator Recognition Award from the Lagos Chapter of the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA), in recognition of its regulatory leadership and commitment to strengthening trust, resilience and good governance in Nigeria’s digital ecosystem.
The award was presented during the ISACA Lagos Chapter’s 30th Anniversary Celebration in Lagos, where the National Commissioner/Chief Executive Officer of the NDPC, Dr Vincent Olatunji, was represented by the Commission’s Lagos Liaison Officer, Ms Omoikhefe Ahimie.
Ahimie received the award on behalf of the Commission from the Global CEO of ISACA, Mr Erik Prusch.
The recognition, according to the organisers, reflects the NDPC’s distinguished regulatory leadership and efforts towards strengthening professional standards, trust, resilience and good governance within the industry.
Speaking at the anniversary celebration, Ahimie congratulated the Lagos Chapter of ISACA on attaining 30 years of professional service and commended its leadership, members and professional partners for their contributions to the growth and success of the Chapter.
She also highlighted the importance of the partnership between the NDPC and ISACA in advancing professionalism, trust and good governance within Nigeria’s rapidly evolving digital ecosystem.
As part of the ceremony, Ahimie also presented the Contributor to Chapter Knowledge Development Awards to Prof. Zechariah Akinpelu, Dr Harrison Nnaji, Dr Ronke Agoro, Dr Adedoyin Talabi and Mr Abumere Igboa.
The celebration underscored the shared commitment of the NDPC and ISACA to promoting responsible digital practices, professional excellence and stronger governance standards in Nigeria’s technology and data protection landscape.
