Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, joined diplomatic leaders from across the Commonwealth for the 26th Commonwealth Foreign Affairs Ministers Meeting (CFAMM) held at Lancaster House.

The high-level gathering served as a strategic session for ministers to coordinate on pressing global challenges and align priorities ahead of the upcoming Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM).

Throughout the deliberations, Minister Tuggar and his counterparts emphasized the necessity of collective action to address systemic issues. Key focus areas included:

Global Peace: Strengthening diplomatic frameworks to mitigate conflict.
Economic Resilience: Building robust trade and financial stability among member states.
Democratic Governance: Reinforcing shared values of transparency and the rule of law.
In a statement issued by the Ministry’s spokesperson, Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa, the Federal Government reiterated Nigeria’s dedication to multilateralism. The statement noted that Nigeria remains steadfast in engaging with Commonwealth partners to drive shared progress and sustainable development across all member nations.

The meeting underscores Nigeria’s active role in the 56-nation bloc as it prepares for the biennial summit of heads of state.
