Nigerian Navy Appoints Folorunsho Spokesperson

‎The Nigerian Navy has appointed Captain Abiodun Abidemi Folorunsho as the new Director of Naval Information and spokesperson for the Service.

‎This was disclosed in a statement signed by the Chief of Policy and Plans, Rear Admiral AO Olodude, in January 2026.

The statement reads that the appointment was approved by the Chief of the Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Idi Abbas.

Oludude stated: ‎“Captain Abiodun Abidemi Folorunsho took over from Commodore Aiwuyor Adams-Aliu on January 27, 2026″.

‎He added that Adams-Aliu had been redeployed as Commander of NNS BEECROFT.

‎The statement noted that Folorunsho holds multiple degrees in engineering, defence, and security studies.

‎It highlighted his training in Nigeria, Pakistan, Sweden, and the United States.

‎Olodude said the new spokesperson had served in several operational and strategic roles.

‎“He has extensive experience in public relations and information management,” he stated.

‎He expressed confidence that the appointment would enhance the Navy’s communication strategy.
