The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has informed the public that its Apo–Karu 132kV Transmission Line tripped at 5:31pm on Monday, October 12, 2026, resulting in a loss of supply to Karu Transmission Substation. This was contained in a statement signed by the Management of TCN.

The statement reads: “Following a physical inspection of the line, TCN engineers identified a cut jumper on the yellow phase at Tower T2.

“TCN’s maintenance crew is scheduled to carry out urgent repairs on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, to restore the line to service.

“Consequently, Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) has been unable to supply power to customers in Karu, Nyanya, Kugbo, Jikwoyi, Kurudu, Orozo, Karshi, Mararaba, and adjoining areas.

“TCN apologizes for any inconvenience caused to affected electricity consumers, ” it also added.
