The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has refuted Kaduna Electric’s claim on Jos supply, noting that all 330kV lines to Jos are in service. TCN categorically states that the claim is false and a deliberate misrepresentation of facts. This was contained in a statement signed by the Management of TCN.

The statement reads: “The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has noted with concern a statement currently in circulation by Kaduna Electric, dated 26/8/26, alleging transmission constraints affecting power supply to Jos and its environs.

“TCN categorically states that the claim is false and a deliberate misrepresentation of facts.

“For the avoidance of doubt, all 330kV transmission lines connected to Jos are in service and transmitting bulk power.

“TCN recorded a lone incident on 23rd August 2026 at 03:30hrs, when the Jos – Lafia 330kV Line 2 circuit breaker was opened for voltage control. This was a routine operational action to maintain grid stability. The line was successfully restored and back in service at 11:59hrs on 24th August 2026.

“There has been no outage or disruption of bulk electricity transmission on any 330kV line supplying Jos attributable to TCN since that restoration.

“TCN remains committed to transparency and to efficient transmission of bulk electricity to Distribution Companies nationwide. We urge Kaduna Electric and other stakeholders to verify facts with TCN before issuing statements that misinform the public and create unnecessary anxiety.

“We appeal to electricity customers in Jos and environs to disregard the misleading information. TCN will continue to work with all Distribution Companies to ensure stable and reliable power delivery, “it also added.
