The National Information Technology Development Agency and the National Broadcasting Commission have begun moves to strengthen collaboration on digital transformation and media regulation.
The Director General of NITDA, Kashifu Inuwa, disclosed this while receiving his NBC counterpart, Charles Ebuebu, in Abuja.
Inuwa said digital transformation and regulation must go hand in hand.
“Digital transformation is not a one-off project but a continuous journey that requires constant improvement,” he said.
He explained that NITDA deliberately repositioned itself from a traditional civil service structure.
“More than 70 per cent of our staff came from the mainstream public service, so we started changing that narrative by resetting mindsets and building capacity,” Inuwa stated.
He said the agency’s reforms were anchored on people, processes, and technology.
“No matter how good a strategy is, without the right culture, execution will fail,” he added.
Inuwa revealed that NITDA streamlined over 396 internal processes.
He also disclosed that all staff underwent mandatory artificial intelligence training.
“AI is a tool for enhancing productivity, not replacing human capital,” he said.
He announced that NITDA would share its digital transformation playbook with NBC.
In his response, Ebuebu called for deeper institutional collaboration.
“This partnership is long overdue in the face of media and technology convergence,” he said.
