The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has informed the public that its maintenance crew will carry out scheduled maintenance on the 40MVA 132/33kV Transformer TR1 at its Akwanga 132/33kV Transmission Substation. This was contained in a statement issued by the management of the Transmission company of Nigeria (TCN).

The statement reads: “The maintenance will commence at 10:00 a.m. on today, 7th August 2026, and is scheduled for completion by 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, 8th August 2026.

“During the maintenance period, the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) will be unable to off-take bulk electricity supply from the affected transformer to distribute to its customers in Akwanga, Nasarawa and environs, Water Board and surrounding areas.

“TCN apologises for any inconvenience the exercise will cause and appreciates the understanding and patience of electricity customers in the affected areas as the maintenance is undertaken to enhance the reliability of the transmission system and improve bulk power supply, ” it also added.
